Today something different: a February poem for a July day.
2/24/07
The night was crisp and dark
The crooked smile of a new moon
rested in the leafless arms
Of the winter trees overhead
Surrounded by bright stars
But look! some of the stars
Have fallen into the trees:
Yesterday’s snow,
Melted and refrozen
became
Droplets of ice on the branches
Reflecting the moon’s blaze
Which was star?
Which was ice?
Hard to tell.
We, like that snow
Have been reshaped
In Christ, too
Become transparent
And in His light
We are stars in the trees of life
Reflecting His beauty
And carrying His love
To all those around.
