Today I want to wish you all a Merry Christmas--merry because of eternal truth revealed at Christmas. Merry in this case is like joy, because it is dependent on eternal truth, not earthly circumstances.

The Eternal God confined Himself to the body of a tiny baby, leaving the perfection of Heaven to be born to inexperienced parents, in an unclean environment, a land governed by evil Herod, populated by unwashed sinners.

What an act of love, only to be exceeded by the act of love on the cross. So we wish you a Merry Christmas because of God’s great love.
