Trust at Dawn

"Cause me to hear your lovingkindness in the morning; for in you do I trust….” Psalm 143:8

When I trust God, actually believe what He says and promises, then His lovingkindness overrules all.

Here at the hospital it’s been an up-and-down journey as they try to figure out what’s happening with Barbara.

As tests results rolled in, so did the possible diagnosis’s

Congestive heart failure…

no, maybe diabetes…

no, some unknown sinister infection…

maybe some damaging lung disease…

maybe rheumatoid arthritis…

maybe an auto-immune disease.

If I let it, each speculative diagnosis could be very jarring, considering the consequences.

But trusting God takes away the shock, cancels the worry, annihilates the anxiety.

In the end, it seems to be some lung infection which is treatable.

It is responding well to the steroid treatment, which, as a side effect,

causes a spike blood sugar--which is not diabetes.

If Barbara continues to approve (she’s much better today),

she will get to go home tomorrow, for which we are very thankful.

As always, God has a plan, we just have to wait for him to work it out.

And, as we have seen,  part of this plan is to give more opportunities to share the gospel here!

Picture: day dawns and when wee trust in Him, we hear His loving kindness!
